A Personal Note from Our Parkinson’s Program Director

Happy New Year, friends and colleagues!

Working at Community Wellness Partners and serving our community is a true joy. Over the past year, I’ve spoken with countless people about our work and Parkinson’s disease, and almost everyone knows someone affected by it.

For me, it’s personal. My great uncle Cuyler had Parkinson’s, as did my dad’s close friend Gordy two decades later. Thanks to advancements in medicine, therapy, and technology, Gordy enjoyed a better quality of life. Both men were always the life of every gathering—always joking, laughing, and sharing stories. Their lives inspire me every day in my work with people living with Parkinson’s.

Our mission at Community Wellness Partners is simple: support the whole person. We are committed to providing a holistic approach for individuals with Parkinson’s disease, offering programs that support physical, mental, and social well-being—not just for those with Parkinson’s, but for caregivers too.

While there’s no cure yet, there are ways to live better with Parkinson’s. Through education, programs, and community support, we aim to make every day a little brighter.

Highlights from the Parkinson’s Awareness Walk

This year’s Parkinson’s Awareness Walk at Sherrill Brook Park in New Hartford was amazing! Hundreds of walkers, volunteers, and supporters turned out, helping us raise nearly $40,000 for our Parkinson’s programs.
